Sikhs fundraise for new community projects

On Sunday 30th November 2014, Sikhs from all over Scotland gathered to celebrate their shared achievements & successes. The event also served as a fundraising opportunity as well as a chance to celebrate St. Andrew’s Day.

On the event, Charandeep Singh, General Secretary, commented:

“Since the opening of the new Glasgow Gurdwara, the Scottish Sikh community has cemented themselves as a confident, integral part of Scotland. This event raised over £50,000, showcasing the generosity of the people and these funds will be devoted to strengthening the Gurdwara’s education provision and Langar service (community meals).”

The event was attended by over 400 attendees and guests included Scottish Government Minister Humza Yousaf and Scottish Labour Interim Leader Anas Sarwar.
