Young people from all over Scotland attended a four day summer youth programme, organised by the new Glasgow Gurdwara.

This annual event smashed all previous records with over 250 young people in attendance and was co-ordinated by a team of 50 young volunteers.

An immersive Sikh experience, this enjoyable programme consisted of seminars, team-building activities, a bonanza fun day and various taster workshops.

Karljinder Singh, 17, said,

“Sikhi Camp 2013 was a brilliant experience for me. I enjoyed meeting new people from all over Scotland and taking part in new activities. I can’t wait for the next event at The Glasgow Gurdwara!”

Joshin Chall, 7, said,

“I loved Sikhi Camp – it was a very exciting week. I made a lot of new friends and can’t wait to see them all again at The Glasgow Gurdwara!”

Priya Kaur, 17, Volunteer Co-ordinator, said,

“This was my first time volunteering at Sikhi Camp and it was an experience I’ll never forget. Meeting so many enthusiastic young people who have a drive to make a difference has inspired me to participate more at The Glasgow Gurdwara.”

Surinder Singh, President of The Glasgow Gurdwara,

“This annual event surpassed all expectations and I am very proud of the volunteers who put this programme together and of all the campers who made the event one to remember. I hope Vaheguru (the Supreme Being) blesses you all with more Seva (selfless services) and Simran (meditation). I look forward to seeing what the young people at The Glasgow Gurdwara organise next!”
