Scotland’s first purpose built Gurdwara has been shortlisted as a Finalist in one category at the Herald Society Awards. We have been nominated for Community Project of the Year. The awards celebrate the dedication, the imagination and more importantly the vital impact of some of the best work taking place in the public and voluntary sector.

The Gurdwara, which attracted up to 10,000 visitors on the opening day, is an iconic piece of architecture adding to the beauty of Glasgow’s skyline.

The £4 million investment by the Scottish Sikh community is making a visible difference to the lives of individuals by providing education, cultural and social services to the Southside and wider community.

Labhaya Singh, Vice President commented,

“I am amazed with what Glasgow Gurdwara has a achieved within the few months of it being opperational and we’re all very much thrilled to be Finalists at the Herald Society Awards.”
